Catching hat on face... No, not quite.
It's more like tossing a hat up and keeping it up
in the air with mental energy, while
simultaneously going back in time and preventing
the hat from ever being created and catching the
hat with your face in the alternate universe
where the hat was never created because you had
previously destroyed the planet and then left the
other hat floating in mid-air, scatter into its
elementary particles which you must then go back
or forward (or sideways, it's all relative) and
find those elementary particles and reconstruct
the hat before the Big Bang, thereby preventing
the creation of the Universe, or TONY.
And when you catch the hat with your face you
must say 'Ta Da!'
Of course, the process has been tremendously
simplified, but you get the jist.

We've all had a moment when we've wondered what it
would be like to live in only five or six dimensions.
Of course those thoughts don't last long, because
it usually gets very claustrophobic. How could
any entity endure the dull and turgid reflection of
existence that this would entail - and how could
struggle by without getting full omni-stential
coverage of the latest/last/previous series of
Bronkian Ultra-Cricket.
Therefore, for a time, there was some effort on the
part of the PanDimensional present on the Titanic to
give the simple folk a chance to prove themselves and
maybe, just maybe, get together enough brownie points
to warrant at least a Third Degree (to the power of
-1.8476653763) membership in the ranks of
PanDimensionals. Much of the process was overseen by
the PanDimensional Council, but like any real
bureaucracy (or unreal, for that matter) they were
better at providing guidelines, quadriplicate forms
and irritating inspection staff than any actual useful
advice in making progress. For that reason, partially
at least, very few made it any higher in the
evolutionary scale than a L'kusian Quasoid Vole.
Still that means more cucumber sandwiches for the
rest of us at the cricket...
